The Story
Nearly three years after the release of their debut, āIf You Leaveā, Daughter - the London-based trio of Elena Tonra, Igor Haefeli and Remi Aguilella - return with a new album entitled āNot To Disappearā.
⢠āNot To Disappearā is Daughterās second album and finds the band making confident strides forward, both sonically and lyrically. Elena, Igor and Remi spent a summer in New York recording āNot To Disappearā with Nicolas Vernhes (Deerhunter, War On Drugs, Animal Collective) at his Rare Book Room studio in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
⢠Eager for a fresh approach to music videos, Daughter invited filmmakers Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard (directors of the Nick Cave film ā20,000 Days On Earthā) to create three films for āNot To Disappearā. Author Stuart Evers was commissioned to write three short stories - āDressā, āWindowā and ā5,040ā - based on select āNot To Disappearā tracks. Iain and Janeās videos are interpretations of those tales.
⢠Starting life in 2010, the band released two EPs - āHis Young Heartā and āThe Wild Youthā - before joining 4AD in 2012. In their short career, Daughter have gained a loyal fanbase, playing to sold-out venues around the world. Their first album, the silver selling āIf You Leaveā, released in 2013, debuted in the Top 20 of the UK album chart.
