The Story
15/05/26
Following a year of extraordinary momentum and growing critical acclaim, Dove Ellis releases his hotly anticipated debut album Blizzard on Friday 5th December. A defining moment in one of the most exciting new artist stories to emerge this year, the record presents Dove at his most expansive and assured, with focus track âHeaven Has No Wingsâ capturing the emotional depth, clarity and cinematic ambition that sit at the heart of his world.
The singles leading into the album have already built a powerful foundation. âTo The Sandalsâ introduced Dove with striking intimacy, earning multiple plays on BBC 6Music, BBC Radio 1 and RTĂ, alongside praise from Stereogum, The FADER, Wonderland and DIY. The follow up double release âLove Is / Pale Songâ pushed things further still. âLove Isâ was named BBC 6Musicâs 'Introducing Track of the Week', âPale Songâ became Stereogumâs Number One Song of the Week, and coverage followed from NME, Clash, So Young, Notion, Paste and Alt Press. Together, these tracks have now surpassed one million streams across all platforms, firmly establishing Dove as one of the most compelling new voices in alternative music.
The album arrives with two major visual pieces. First, an animated short film created with long time collaborator Xander Lewis, expanding on the albumâs themes of identity, belonging and quiet transformation. The album artwork is taken directly from a still within the film and will be delivered imminently. Alongside this is a live session filmed at The Old Operating Theatre, featuring intimate performances of âHeaven Has No Wingsâ and other key moments from the record, offering a striking companion to the world of Blizzard at the moment of release.
Dove has just finished a US run supporting Geese. Across fourteen shows he played to thousands of new listeners, built widespread word of mouth and added more than four thousand new followers across social platforms, with clips from the tour generating significant online excitement. L
Last weekend, Dove travelled to Dingle to perform at Other Voices, joining a lineup that includes Dermot Kennedy , Dry Cleaning and Florence Road. The performance marked another milestone ahead of the album release, capturing Dove in a setting that aligns closely with the emotional and atmospheric world of the record.
With Blizzard out this Friday, Doveâs live journey will continue with his biggest headline show yet at The ICA in London on December 9th, now fully sold out. The album stands as both a culmination of this yearâs ascent and the beginning of a new creative chapter, as the world around Dove Ellis comes fully into focus.
