The Story

13/06/25

Having scored a Top 20 hit with his debut album ā€˜Are We There Yet?’, Brighton's James Marriott looks poised to achieve a whole lot more as he prepares to release his second album, ā€˜Don’t Tell The Dog’ on June 13th. It’s an album in which James confronts a myriad spectrum of neuroses, uncertainties and self-defeating thought processes. But as an artist who loves a striking contrast, they’re woven into songs primarily built for joyous, anthemic singalongs and boisterous live energy. Carefully curated from over a hundred demos, these songs collectively paint an autobiographical picture of James’s life so far. ā€œI wanted to explore themes from my childhood, and in the second half how attachment theory can affect you as an adult. I wanted to look at things that happened to me whilst I was younger and identify ways in which they have echoed into my current relationships.ā€

Tracklisting

1. Ventriloquist 2. Something's Wrong 3. Plasticine 4. It's Only Love 5. Food Poisoning 6. Toothache 7. I Don't Want To Live Like This 8. How Could I Say No? 9. Pillow Fight 10. Why Don't You Kill Me? 11. Limbs
