Re-issue of the Lykke Li album I Never Learn to be released on vinyl on 15 November to celebrateÂ
Lykke Li will reissue her 2014 album âI Never Learnâ to celebrate the 10 th anniversary of this classic of fan-favorite heartbreak pop. A 180-gram vinyl will arrive on November
15 th . A bonus track from the original sessions, Midnight Shiningâwritten with super-
producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Sia)â will drop today.
As every true Li fan knows, this is the album you rinse. âI Never Learnâ cemented Liâs
status as an iconic songwriter, earning her the title High Priestess of Heartbreak. These
are songs âfor the times when heartbreak is so life-affirming that you want to share the feeling with the worldâ (Pitchfork, Best New Music). Itâs a âgloriously rawâ album (Rolling Stone), âepic and incredibly intimateâ (Stereogum), âextraordinary as both a collection of songs and a tactical re-wiring of her genre's circuit boardâ (NPR).
Written with her longtime collaborator Bjorn Yttling, âI Never Learnâ was the final
installment of the trilogy that started with âYouth Novelsâ in 2008 and âWounded RhymesâÂ
in 2011. It went on to achieve a whole host of accolades, including Album of the Year
lists around the world: Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Vulture, Billboard, Complex, and others.Â
Li released a remix of the lead single âNo Rest for the Wickedâ featuring ASAP Rocky.
Following âI Never Learn,â Li went on a streak. She released her fourth album âSo Sad
So Sexy,â co-wrote many of the songs on Mark Ronsonâs âLate Night Feelings,â wrote
for movies and TV, and then recorded 2022âs âEyeyeââa major creative swerve. Her hit
âI Follow Riversâ continues to be played on the dance floor every night around the world.
In 2022, Liâs audiovisual album EYEYE was presented as an immersive art exhibition in
the Los Angeles Broad Museum. In 2019, Li and her partners of YOLA Mezcal hostedÂ
the all-female music and arts festival, YOLA DĂA, featuring performances by Li, Megan
Thee Stallion, Courtney Love, SOPHIE, and more. Last year, she performed with a 50-
piece orchestra for four sold-out nights in Sweden. Outside of music, Li also has an
esteemed acting career, starring in the Terrence Malick film âSong to Songâ (2017) and
the Tarik Saleh film âTommyâ (2014).
